Our group's collection

Pinterest.com
Our group collection is telling a story by saying that a women can be fierce, but yet delicate all at once. That is what were are telling our audience or customers, we want them to feel like they don't just have to be brave or fierce. We all have different emotions at once, and it's OK to feel that way or even act that way. We women have our emotions all over the place, but one way our group identified the stronger and more radiant characteristics of a women were fierce but yet delicate. Our pieces will flow accordingly to our "theme" we have silks, bold colors, light colors, we have embellishments, we have velvet, and that's what we have to create this feeling. The feeling of angelic, but yet confident. I believe that our customers, would love to be part of our story. I mean, I'm pretty sure they'll somewhat relate to this feeling we're evoking. And those who don't, will realize what it actually mean to be a women.

Favorite Fashion Era

From analyzing all the fashion eras, I have to say that my favorite clothing era has to be the 80's! During that time many major events occurred, for example Pac-Man Video Game Released,New Plague Identified as AIDS,  Michael Jackson Releases Thriller, Sally Ride Becomes the First American Woman in Space, Halley's Comet Passes, First PC Virus, Brain, Goes Viral, The Oprah Winfrey Show Gets National Syndication, World Wide Web Invented, and many more. Overall, from all these events, I could sort of see how fashion was created in this era, it was new times, where games were created, the internet, new music, etc and from that I can see how the oversize T shirts were brought in, converse, platforms, and big comfy clothing or shoes were in trend. As well as the hair! which i have always loved how it was frizzy and big. Also, I loved how they also had graphic tees, high waisted pants. One of my favorite trends will always be denim on denim. I feel like a lot of fashion trend have come back today. And I am happy about. Personally, I wear some 80 trends once in a while from my moms closet because she has kept clothing from when she was in her preteens, and I love just customizing it to a more modern style

Mood Board

Mood boards are design to evoke a feeling into the collection. It's to help gain more inspiration on what ever you're creating. While creating our mood board poster with our groups it helped us gain more ideas on what we really wanted. Looking through the fashion magazines it expanded our ways of thinking and added new garments into our minds. Overall our collection is the fierce, strong feminine side of a women, but yet soft and delicate. To be more specific we are going for a fierce pure woman.

Savers

Savers
Yesterday our Fashion Design class took a field trip to Savers! Yes Savers... a thrift store. As a class were having a fashion show and were creating our own theme collection with groups with recycled garments, bed sheets, curtains, and many more. I learned that Savers works for a non profit organization and that Savers goes into homes to pick up bags or boxes of donated things like, clothing, mattresses, furniture, etc. I also learned that anyone can go into savers to donated items and can get a discount. Also I learned that their workers are trained to know what brands are and know how well the material is. And also I learned that they check prices through a computer system. One of the most interesting facts is what ever clothing they don't sell, they end up shipping it to another company and that company ends up shipping it to other countries around the world. Our group found embellishments, dresses, bed sheets, curtains, shirts, and more. Overall our group spent approximately $115 and was below $35 of of our budget! With the materials purchased we're creating boho dresses, suits, and many more! All in all Savers is doing a good thing by working with charities.

Selena Gomez’s Fashion Evolution

From Disney star to Vogue cover girl, Selena's fashion has evolved quite a lot. At first her sense of style was too loose fitted, and it seemed to me she was more shy, edgy, and was still experimenting on maybe was she liked and what she didn't. And that absolutely OK, because she started as a young girl. Throughout time she started changing to becoming more conservative, classy, and sophisticated, to that I felt like she looked a bit to mature and was dressing like she was in her early 30's. Lastly to her big turnaround was to becoming  more feminist, with confident looks, fitted, and chic as well. I personally have always loved her since of style since 2013. I think that the year she changed up her whole wardrobe, into something more herself and something more fierce...Which I love! Above all, I believe everyone first has to experiment on what looks good in them hat doesn't and learn from that as well

Paul & Joe | Paris Fashion Week Fall 2017

"Fearless Fashion: Paul & Joe | Paris Fashion Week Fall 2017"

They caught with with "Fearless". One thing I noticed while watching this runway show is the collection was power! I love how not only the clothing spoke for themselves, but the women as well. I believe that when it comes to expressing you clothing you should as well own with your attitude, posture, and personality! One thing that I noticed were that these women walk with such great fierce and power! Which is amazing because of the circumstance we as women have been going through! Overall with the look and theme of this collection I noticed that it was very 90's inspired and as well with the morden look from today. I as well noticed a lot of casual wear and some semi-fancy dresses. I truly enjoyed looking at how the models looked while they were walking. They owned it! As well as the color scheme, "few metallics, seasoned reds, and moldy greens seen throughout showed little care for color narrowness" Perfect for the Fall! I am truly inspired, I hope to see more of this  designer, because till now I am barely noting them.

Anniesa Hasibuan's

"Fashion is an open world," said Anniesa Hasibuan. "It should be providing opportunities for everybody." Anniesa Hasibuan's statement last year at her New York Fashion Week debut sent all her models down the runway wearing hijabs...a first at NYFW! I love it how artist, designers, photographers, etc create a statement through their own work. I personally love the way Anniesa Hasibuan's work played off here. Anniesa Hasibuan's "For me, fashion is an open world. It should be providing opportunities for everybody. So we don't differentiate people," a soft-spoken Hasibuan told Fashionista, via interpreter, backstage before the show. "Diversity is a beautiful value that everybody should embrace."  Trump becoming a president has impacted many people lives through word of actions, but that does not stop a persons right to speak through their minds. We as society need to all come together and reinforced this nation, before it's too late. And also we should consider the fact that we need to start speaking up. We all have a voice to be heard. I hope this message gets to everyone. We are a free nation. We are humans. We are equal. We are diverse.
