Johnson & Wales
Johnson & Wales University is a private and non-profited school. With 4 schools each in 4 different states a few students are enrolled into each and every school. This school cares about the students education and getting to know everything about their desired major. Johnson & Wales University is also great for the people who want to to learn on hands and are not just sitting down researching for their grade. JWU provides many academic majors along that anyone that shows they want to be there can enroll into. With the locations these school are from, I am not interested into attending this school. I feel like I am more of a west coast person now from my 17 years of living in the West coast, from living in Washington and here in California. Many students should take their time into researching about this school, for the ones that want to go off state, of course. I believe that for some people its a better fit for them. Overall, JWU should seek out more, and probably establish themselves in the east coast, so more students have the opportunities to enroll.

Function or Design?
During the video, "Design Vs. Function: How Should You Start Prototyping?"
I learned that many entrepreneurs have different ideas and goals when creating a product. Everyone believes in different creations, for example quantity over quality or in this case function over design. When it comes to developing a product I prefer function over design, even though I believe both of these aspects should be included in all products, sometimes we focus more on one that when it comes to the end only one prototype is included. As we all start producing products we as a team should all be focused on both prototypes. As a customer I believe if I am paying for something it should as well work correctly with no, difficulties and it should be designed well too.

Cyber-Monday
Another way companies make profit is through Cyber Monday, an "online-only shopping equivalent of Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving has been the start of the holiday shopping season since the 19th century. To this day, Thanksgiving parades signal the season with the appearance of Santa Claus, a sign that Christmas is coming. Traditionally, this would prompt retailers to start advertising for holiday sales. Over the years, Black Friday morphed into the major shopping holiday that it is now. And, with the rise of the internet and the popularity of e-commerce came its online counterpart, Cyber Monday." This form is the same as going in-stores at Black Friday. Many would say you save yourself gas, waiting in long lines, dealing with other people and the coldness. I would agree to tho pros, but yet you still have to wait and it gets more frustrated because websites tend to crash and slow down because all the people are on it a once. From experience from both, you still need lots of patients and well accessible internet. I would say both have their benefits. This year, I won't have I'm not interested in shopping online. I would say this ideal is more for non-working people. Who have time in their mornings.

Black Friday
Black Friday is a single day after Thanksgiving, where retail companies have promotions and discounts on certain products for us to buy. "The first recorded use of the term “Black Friday” was applied not to holiday shopping but to financial crisis: specifically, the crash of the U.S. gold market on September 24, 1869". Two Wall Street financiers, Jay Gould and Jim Fisk bought together, "nation’s gold, hoping to drive the price sky-high and sell it for astonishing profits. On that Friday in September, the conspiracy finally unraveled, sending the stock market into free-fall and bankrupting everyone from Wall Street barons to farmers. The most commonly repeated story behind the post-Thanksgiving shopping-related Black Friday tradition links it to retailers. As the story goes, after an entire year of operating at a loss (“in the red”) stores would supposedly earn a profit (“went into the black”) on the day after Thanksgiving, because holiday shoppers blew so much money on discounted merchandise. Though it’s true that retail companies used to record losses in red and profits in black when doing their accounting, this version of Black Friday’s origin is the officially sanctioned—but inaccurate—story behind the tradition". I think this benefits the producers and consumers, which is a win- win for all of us. But there has been some research towards this day that products are actually made with cheaper material and this could cause the product to last shorter, which is an issue because what's the point of buying them if their going to not last you. For the past 2 years I've actually have not participated in any of the Black Friday propaganda. My mom and I usually go when we want a new TV or anything electronic. Other than that, sometimes their clothing sales aren't as much as a big deal.

Tattoos as an Accessory
It's pretty common to have tattoos during this era full of wildness, freedom, and creativity. Model and photographer Ira Chernova is one of many women that has tattoos and one of the few that has a lot of them. "Her collection of body art includes one full sleeve, a covered thigh, a dagger right below her navel, and a lone hourglass behind her ear, among others." With this type of art form the tattoos complement her garments, which create her to look like a very astonishing, free spirited woman. "Chernova has embraced a certain sense of freedom and an ability to style entire outfits around her tattoos." I personally believe that tattoos have always identified who a person is, just like any ordinary accessory or clothing choices. I can see many more women and men, that are into making a fashion statement or just like the world of fashion getting tattoos. This aspect of art clearly is very beautiful and unique. Not everyone will have the same art in their bodies, so this will be up for the persons creativity to make. Overall I really home to see tattoos used as an accessory.

WHY IS IT TAKING FASHION SO LONG TO GET ON BOARD WITH SUSTAINABILITY?
I think fashion is behind on sustainability because like Elizabeth Cline says, "part of it is that we're at peak obsession with fast fashion. Consumers want the absolute latest trend at the lowest possible price. They want to look like what they're seeing on Instagram, and they want it now, and they want it for the lowest price." Meaning everyone wants cheap clothing and don't want something expensive. I would say that maybe the people that are passionate about the Eco-friendly clothing are the ones that would invest their money and time into. From this I believe that not a lot of industries will convert to creating eco-friendly because of all of the money the factories have to spent in and the hours they have to put in to manufacture the organic fabrics, etc. I personally, am not that involved into buying these fabrics. I'm more of a person that buys clothing that fits my needs for a reasonable price.

Balmain's Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Show
Throughout this fashion show, I felt that everything was well-fitted. I absolutely loved how all the 80 were so stunning and extravagant. This collection did include a variety of modesty looks, as well as very sexy looks. It had lots of cool tones, earth tones, bold colors, black, etc. I also notice a lot of silk martial used. I think this is perfect for the warm and hot weather for Spring/Summer.
One of my favorite looks, consisted of being very vibrant with some sort of tribal print, long, loose, and very modest as well. I feel with this sort of outfit you can easily transform it into a day look and a night look too. If you add the perfect accessories and make-up you can transform any outfit to that occasion.
One thing that that I also notice throughout this collection is that the designer sent out a message saying it's time to embrace the nipple. I did notice that through reading his article about this collection. I feel that a lot of people feel very offended by this, for women to be showing their "private parts" yet again men show their nipple and no one says anything. If 'nipples are always free".
feel inspired to protest this in the future. I also love the way Balmain expresses his designs, "Bold, thick stripes are a Balmain signature, and they appeared in the spring collection in satin, suede and a chain-mail knit in both solid, matte tones and sparkly, thin stripes, and in the form of tunics, pants and jumpsuits." I think Balmain is a very intelligent person through this industry.

"Fall's Biggest Jacket Trend"
Have you seen it or worn it? Seems that the classical "high school football players' jacket" is becoming a big trend now, with of course more detailed and glamorous features. This "varsity jacket that takes the trend to the next level with letterman details and a funky faux-fur finish." Worn by the iconic model in all fashion magazines, Gigi Hadid. Recently, Gigi has been all over magazines as a fashion model, perfume, makeup, and more. Now, to the topic of this vintage and practical jacket. I love that these are becoming a trend not only through the high school halls and at football games, but everywhere you go. I personally always love the styling of these jackets and you can pretty much personalize it. For example you can add embedded stones, add in you last name, favorite number, and more. The jackets with fur add a perfect touch for the Fall/Winter coming in soon and also fits will together because fur is in right now. To this I'm happy to start seeing these at retail stores to purchase mine personally.

The Best Celebrity Halloween Costumes Through the Years
Celebrities seem to always go all extreme on Halloween. Maybe because they're more well known and have the budget to afford a costume or to design one. These people have worn from a simple costume to a full wear costume. One of favorite ones is Rihanna (2013) with her "zombie gangster alter ego "Shy Girl" and painted her skin blue." I love this unique outfit. I feel that a costume is nothing without the art on the face/body (make-up). And Rihanna did a great job contributing that face paint onto her body. Another one of my favorites is Heidi klum (2015). As Jessica Rabbit. Everything in this costume looked very real and the make-up was perfect.

Quality Assurance
Quality assurance is having a well constructed garment that can be use in retail for the consumers. Out in the fashion designing world there's an inspector that is dedicated to assure all clothing are in the stage of being in the market AKA quality assurance inspector. This is an absolutely important job because if the garment is not constructed well the consumers will reject it and the company won't
profit form that. There are many details inspectors look for. For example the grain-line, this detail is pants and it's used to keep the pants from the crotch down from moving from it's place. This is a very important quality assurance, because if it moves out of it place, I will be very uncomfortable for the costumer. Another quality assurance inspectors look for are for same colors sewing stitch thread. This is important because you don't want a contrary color, for example you don't want your black blouse to be threading around the seams in orange. Furthermore a detail that is also important is having well sewn serge edges. Overall this of course is not only an assurance for garnishments, but
aslo assured for music sound, food, shoes, cars, phones, laptops, and so on.

Levels of Quality
The quality of garments overall can be descriptive as high, medium, or low. High quality garments have the best aspects from having well materials. Attention to the is seen in the making of the piece. For example, plaids and stripes are matched at seams. The styling of the garment follow the rules of a well made design. The higher the prices of these clothing are because of the quality features. Medium quality is created durable and reliable materials. These would then me in the medium price range. Low quality of the garment is poorly made and fabrics may not hold together as well when being worn or cleaned. These are obviously in the lower price range. Reading this and from personal experience I truly believe in quality over quantity. Basically I 'm trying to implying that it better to invest your money into well made clothing instead of buying poorly constructed garments that will only last you a few uses. Many people believe that the clothing martial doesn't matter as long as it's cheap.

Teamwork
Teamwork is very important because it's a skill you will be needing to be well at for future jobs, school projects, and more. One of the Pros of teamwork is having a lot of ideas coming in through anything that you're doing. For example if you're thinking of name to call your project, when everyone contributes you can get a variety of creative names, of course when all minds are brought to one. Also the benefits of teamwork can help you get everything done at a rapid pace efficiently. One of the cons of teamwork is socializing to the extreme of not getting anything done and not using your time wisely. I feel that if you have a friend in your class, group, etc you're are most likely to get distracted and get out of focus. Also another negative thing of teamwork is not everybody putting in their effort into the work. Some people really just don't care of the grade they will get and some just don't feel comfortable sharing out their ideas. Overall, teamwork can be a good skill or bad one.

"Halloween Fashion"
October is one of my favorite months because of two reasons. First because it's my birthday month! And second because it"s Halloween all month! I personally love contributing dark bold colored clothing, accessories, make-up, and nail polish throughout the whole month. For many people Halloween is a day wear they can be who ever they want without anybody being judgmental. This Halloween, I'm not quite sure what I'm dressing up as. Usually I always create a last minute costume. For example, last year I dressed up as Minnie Mouse by using my everyday clothing, which was black tights, red blouse, and a head band. The only pieces I had to create were the Polk-a-dots, made out of white fabric, cut out and then I simply used fabric glue to apply them into the shirt. For the ears I cut out 2 ovals from a cardboard box I had in the storage room then quickly covered the cardboard ovals with black fabric from a black unwanted shirt. Easy, fun, and quick! The only thing left to do is draw in my nose, apply pink blush, do a defined wing liner, and add some lashes to glam up the look. From this, I honestly don't understand why people spend more than $50 on a Halloween costume,
when you can easily create a unique and inexpensive one.

Garment factories in Syria
Seems that the world of garments is being created by young Syrian refugees from ages 7 to 15 in Istanbul, Turkey at hidden underground factories. The reporter, Darragh MacIntyre was in"Istanbul investigating allegations that Syrian refugees and children are being exploited by the garment industry." He had the knowledge of child labour, but never really expected it be that extreme. He spoke to young children and they confessed to what they were made to do and why they were there. For instance "One boy, just 13, told me he was between jobs. He had spent the morning looking for work when we spoke. No luck. I asked him what he would do now. Tears rolled slowly down his cheek as he told me that if he didn't work, he couldn't live." According to "Omar" a 15 year old that works in the factory the brands that these children work for are all well popularized in the UK and anyone could easily recognize them. Parents in this case have no choice, with no explanation. I have truly thought about this and it's simply because of the economy they live in. Reading this made me realize that these children don't have a voice, joy, nor have sympathy from others. I believe that children should not be put into to work of any kind. Children are meant to be in school, enjoying life stress free, laughing, and playing. In the other hand, these kids live in property, so it's hard to live up to those basic expectations. With no doubt, the US could have these kind of factories. I feel that the media or/and the government here in the US hides many thing from the people, so we wouldn't know if it's true our not and if this were to happen many people oppose to this and protest form the right of these children.

"Spring 2017 Accessories Trends"
Spring 2017 is coming soon and we need to staring getting prepared for the new trends that are coming in. Vogue provided a list of images of the soon to be trending accessories. Observing these trends, it made think a lot about the 70's and 80's. Feels like were going to start living that era again through our garments and accessories. Going through the images were things that I really loved, for example were the eye glasses frame. They were very retro, chic, and classical (some). One of the things that I wasn't to fond of were the half or less inch heels. They are very funky looking and basic. One of my other favorites is the large bags. I feel that larger bags will more convenient to store anything. I also loved the frame for the glasses.

FIDM
FIDM is the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising an located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County. The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is a for-profit college in California. It offers courses in fashion, entertainment, beauty, interior design, and graphic design and more. I learned that the generation we are living in today doesn't want to be sold anything. So this means that's it's getting tougher for brands, stores, etc to sell and market their products. For example now brands have to connect with us through social media to reach to us in a matter that will get our attention and reach our hearts. Also I learned that fashion technology is advancing more. When the instructor from FIDM came she talked about the the new "smart stores" located her in the Bay Area in San Francisco. Basically the smart store is clothing store in which you get into a fitting room and then you're able to select the clothing of your choice through a digital touch screen, then when you're done choosing what you selected an employ from their will have your garment that you chose ready to be fitted. How cool is that! Now you don't have to stress of walking around looking for your size, color, style, etc. I'm truly excited to learn more about the fashion and designs of this era.

"Khloé Kardashian and Emma Grede on Their Denim Collection"
The Kardashian's/ Jenner's today are well known for their famous luxurious lives they are living from having their own lip kits, clothing line, game app, and more. Today, October 18, 2016, the famous Khloe Kardashian opened her new jean line at Nordstrom along wit Emma Grede. I feel that her clothing line will become successful because of her popularity. Because of that they also explain that their jeans were made to fit any body type. I personally think their line will become efficient, many people struggle to find a perfect jean. Some are just way to tight, loose, baggy, or unfitted that is just doesn't feel comfortable to walk around with. Khloe says that, "these jeans are made to fit every shape and size. they’re sexy and flattering, and made to fit you—not the other way around." Khloe definitely wants the best for clients and she reaches to connects with them and feel that they are not the only ones with these jean struggles. Overall, according to Emma this collection was made to "celebrate our curves and strength as women ."

"Cover Girl's first male ambassador"
The 17 year-old, James Charles is the new and first Cover Girl male. He started sharing his stunning and creative make-up looks on social media. This brought everyone's attention because of such a talented young boy. I feel like this the start of our generation. We as a society living in the 21 century need to start realizing that make-up, magazines covers, nail polish, garments of any kind, beauty brands, etc, are for all genders. We all need to be accepting over the fact that we are all free and equal. I believe Cover Girl made a great choice with choosing the first male. There are many teens out there that are doing what they love, but I feel that there not as appreciated nor have the proper behavior to be involved or announced in a huge business chain, like James Charles. He is a perfect example of being an icon because of such young and sophisticated talent. I really hope to see more males in the cover of "female" products, magazines, social media, and more.

Jobs in the fashion industry
There are many fashion jobs out there. I found three that caught my attention and will be willing to consider this job in the future. One of the occupations I found was being a stylist. Stylist are known as "personal stylist or a makeup artist." If they are experienced and successful, meaning if they have skills, well educated, work for many clients, and are well known, they will typically earn $100,000 a year. This job provides "two main types of stylists: makeup artists and personal stylists. A makeup artist specializes in the application of makeup, and a personal stylist specializes in improving an individual's image through accessories, clothing, hair styling, and/or makeup. A makeup artist should expect to earn less than a personal stylist because the former is usually only familiar with makeup techniques." This job requires you to have a "General Educational Development (GED) credential, an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in styling and/or fashion design." The second occupation I looked in was a retail manager. Retail managers are common fashion store managers. They earn about $25,000 and $50,000 if they are stable and have medium size stores. "Retail managers are responsible for making sure that the cashiers, salespeople, and other employees of a store perform the tasks necessary for the store to succeed."General Educational Development (GED) credential, have at least two years of experience in a customer service or retail position related to the fashion industry, pass a background check, and complete a training program. Some companies may also require or prefer that you have an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in business or management, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and/or another similar degree." The third job I found was a visual merchandiser. A visual merchandiser "allows you to express your creativity" They are "are responsible for making sure that the customers can see every accessory and garment and that the accessories and garments looks like something that a customer might want to buy." Visual merchandisers earn about$37,000 and $58,000 annually. This job requires "high school diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) credential and some experience in a related field (typically three to five years of experience in customer service, general retail, sales, marketing, or another similar field)." Overall I gained knowledge towards the variety of fashion jobs there is and willing to consider myself in joining into one of them.

Neith Nyer | Spring Summer 2017
Neith Nyer, a Spring Summer collection for 2017. This Spring Summer collection was very dark, abstract, and gothic in my opinion. I felt like the designer was going for dark layered clothing, at times I thought this collection was more like Fall inspired. I would say though that it was very unique and chic. For example many of the tops like coats, jackets, etc were open from the shoulders. I thought this was very different. Another one was wearing cut waisted jeans with different materials on one sided leg. Also they had a dress over a under a shirt. One the things that caught my attention was the use of facial piercings everyone had. This added the gothic and chic touch to the garments. It also played as a great accessory. Overall I think this collection had to many layers of clothing, and I did not feel the Spring Summer vibe throughout the show

What are hems? How can they affect a garment's appearance?
Hems are stitches that are hand sewn into garments. They are used in many different ways. One of the basic hand sewing stitches is the Invisible Slip Stitch, Herringbone Stitch, and the Whip Stitch. Each one of these are used for a variety of techniques. To start with a hem is used to stitch at the bottom of the fabric or garment to keep it from falling it apart. An Invisible Slip Stitch well work for a hem because you don't want your hem to be seen and with the Invisible Slip Stitch it will work perfect for your hem. The herringbone stitch in another hand, works from left to right. You take a small horizontal stitch into one layer and the another, so the thread crosses itself. This stitch is very useful to secure hems. Lastly the Whip stitch is a diagonal stitch sewn with a single thread along a raw edge to prevent from fraying. Overall these are one the few hand sewing stitches.

Week 7 in Fashion Design & Textile Art
It's been 7 weeks so far since I've been here at Fashion Design & Textile Art. I've learned a lot! I came in here knowing nothing about sewing machines nor hand sewing. Learning how to hand sew and use the sewing machine has really skilled me having more patients and focusing more. I learned many techniques from my peers that have more knowledge to sewing, and it's really great to learn something in many different ways. For example I learned how to tie a knot in four different ways! Which is really helpful because you can use this skill to secure your stitches, when it comes to hand sewing. Also I learned varieties of stitches and how each one is unique. Now getting into machine sewing, I feel like it is more delicate to use. When it comes to using the sewing machine I feel like you have to be in peace, focused, and patient. This truly has changed my perspective towards fashion designers and buy clothing in stock. Overall, learning these basic skills I feel a little bit more comfortable sewing and maybe making a garment.
what i have learned about machine and hand sewing
I have learned many things about machine sewing like how to get the machine ready before i start sewing. There is many steps where the thread has to go through the machine to get the machine and thread ready to go and start sewing. The first few times i would forget some steps but since it is a requirement to do right before sewing then i got used to it and now i get it ready faster. when sewing with the machine it does not really matter how fast you go as long as you know how to hold the fabric, because the machine does the work by itself you just have to know how to control it and for the sewing to go the direction you want it to go.
Sewing by hand is a whole different process, it is not as difficult to get started with the thread because all you have to do is get a piece as long as your arm and tide a knot at the end of one side. you get the needle inside and then you just start sewing. The difficult part is knowing how to sew and in a specific way because there is many different type of styles and most of the time you want to hide the threat and is hard to hide the thread because you have to be very organize and everything has to be straight. Otherwise, it will look sloppy and sewing has to look very neat and that is why it needs to take time.

Otherwise, it will look sloppy and sewing has to look very neat and that is why it needs to take time.

Listening Skills
Listening is the key to success in life. This basic skill will get you having better grades, more friends, and even more become more confident in yourself. For instance if you weren't paying attention when the teacher, instructor, manager, etc was demonstrating how to get the job done, then when you're in your own you won't have an idea on to start and this will make you feel like a failure, so it better to listen, ask questions, and stay focus. One thing that was clear was listening is not the same as hearing. Hearing refers to sounds, whereas listening requires paying attention to the dialogue, diction, and tone someone is speaking about. The three basic rules to be a successful listener is 1.) removing distractions. 2.) "Be patient." and 3.) "Listen to ideas not just words." All in all, after reading this article I believe that Listening is a very important skill.

Ashish | Spring Summer 2017 Fashion Show
London fashion week is here! One of the most engaging collections I saw was Ashish Spring Summer 2017 collection. Extremely unique and diverted. Meaning that this show had both genders and not just the typical female. Which was amazing. This collection had a lot of the Indian, Arabic, middle eastern, etc culture. All of the garments involved graphic words, rhinestones, beads, sequins, piercings, crowns, full face make-up, and live creatures; like snakes. One of the many trends that I observed were metallics. It was influenced in many clothing pieces. Also I saw a lot of modest wear. No lower body was shown nor upper body, except for the males. Maybe it's part of their culture. Overall many bright, sparkly, and metallic were introduced in this collection.

Community Service
Community service is very important especially if you're a high school student. The events you are involved in will help you develop leadership skills, communication, socializing, etc. In today's world these basic skills will help you in life to become a better person in any working environment. Also if you're applying to any job or even college. You will probably be most likely accepted or hired, because of the things you have been participating in. One of my favorite experiences was when I was a face painter at an Elementary school here in San Jose. One of my few passionate is applying makeup. So this really helped see what I am going to be dealing with in the future. I realized that not everyone will like your art work and you have to be willing to accept it. You can't give up. All you have to do is willing to try over and over again until your "client" is satisfied with it. Overall, everything you're involved in will help you develop everywhere you go.

Spring Fendi couture show
Frendi's couture show in Rome by Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini for Spring 2017 was full of light romantic pastel colors and a few bold colors as well. This collection introduced stripes, ruffles, collars, flower print, lace, silks, and cultural garments too. Frendi had a very chic calm vibe throughout their line. This collection had a diversity of sophistication to chic and daring looks. One of the most eye catching looks was how they incorporated a pink ruffled waist apron. Was this look suppose to say something of how the common women are influenced to wear that in the kitchen or when cleaning? They not only had one look (waist apron) but they also added a longer pink with gold detailing. I believe this will later make a statement and will not become a fashion trend because of how stereotypical and offensive some people might take it. Nevertheless, Frendi's collection had a lot small mismatched looks with different patterns, materiel, and textures.

Hogwarts’ haute couture
In the Harry Potter films, have you ever thought to notice the extreme uniqueness sense of style all the characters have throughout all the films? These wizards have an elegant, sophisticated, and vintage wardrobe. One of my favorites is Hermione's yule ball dress. The dress on her was fitted perfectly with the ruffles and the layers it had involved and it also fell in nice for the vintage theme they have going one. Also one of my other favorites was the "beauxbatons school uniforms". I believe this is such a cute, but yet sophisticated look for school, and job office, etc. Another favorites of mine was, Fleur’s wedding dress. This lavish dress is my dream dress with all the defined textures it has and the volume it his in the lower part. It also has a lot of symmetric designs and has a unique touch into it. Over all the Harry Potter films has hundreds of unique looks! That are absolutely stunning and original.

Why have T-Shirts been popular styles with teens for a very long time? Do you think this will change anytime soon?
Will T-shirts go out of trend? T-shirts can be worn in a variety of looks. For instance it can be worn with a skater skirt, under a spaghetti dress, leggings and a cardigan, high waisted jeans, shorts, it also can be worn as a long dress, etc. This simple garment, I believe this will always be a popular style because of the different outfits you can make upon using just a T-shirt. Also wearing a T-shirt for teens can differentiate with someone. Many teens like T-shirts to make a fashion statement or to represent what they believe in or also demonstrate their culture as well. This is important because every one is unique and wearing a T-shirt can show an image of your favorite band, artist, idol, etc. Also someone can also wear it to show their art work, for example they might love art, cuttings and creating unique T-shirts. Culture as well can influenced in shirts, they can print a graphic design to their T-shirts to represent their, religion, nation, and beliefs. As you can see there's a diversity towards wearing a T-shirt and I don't think T-shirts will ever go out of being in trend.

RiRi's Style
Seems like everyone has been talking about the amazing outfits of Rihanna aka RiRi (Famous Pop/Hip Hop artist). From her looks from the VMA's, MTV awards, Met Gala, her everyday social life, etc. Rihanna definitely knows how to put together a look and transform it into her own style and make it unique in a glamorous way. For example, she would wear ordinary garments that you would think would't go to together, like how she wore a "pin-striped maxi dress with a baseball cap and white sneakers". You don't see this type look everyday. Another look she wore was an "embroidered" green suit and pointed-toe heels. Also one of my favorites is a Marc Jacobs "floral embroidered and slit gown" she wore, with a pair of pointed-toe converse heels. So can we call her a trendsetter? I absolutely agree. Rihanna knows how to make a basic rag and turn it into a stunning garment.

How do you feel about what you read? Do you think there is room for different types of models on the runway? Why or why not? Do you think the runway at NYFW is a good place to bring awareness to global issues? Why or why not?
Whether you're short, tall, thick, thin, or even have disabilities I believe that everyone belongs in any runway show. This shows the diversity throughout the nations and how everyone is different and not just a typical tall and thin woman or man model. I think NYFW is an excellent way to demonstrate global awareness because of how this event brings a lot of attention and the people will realize what's going on among the world they live in. The fact that the media hides many aspects like being born
with disabilities and having any sort of syndrome. Also being abused and having physical damage for life by the attacks in your nation, it is a great way to show off your beauty through this event.

What is a fashion classic?
Hi everyone,
Today we will be discussing a fashion classic. What is a fashion classic? It is a design, garment, and, and a style that has been around a long period of time and has not gone out of trend. For example, little black dress has never gone out of trend and will always be a classic because of the variety of looks you can create with the dress, whether it's for an evening or a night event you can go beyond with how you style it. Another fashion classic has to be Converse. These pair of sneakers have been around sometime and you can basically pair it with anything like, a loose short dress, mid- length skirt with a crop top shirt, high waisted jeans with a basic tee, or even leggings with a loose button-up blouse to give your outfit a more comfy look. Also one of my favorites classics are scarves. You can either wear this as an accessory during the spring or summer or wear this for the cold winter days. For instance, for a summer day you can wear a bright colorful scarf with a white lace dress and pair it with sandals. And for the cold winter days you can wear a knitted scarf with a long sleeve sweater and thick leggings with combat boots. Overall I think these are one of the few ultimate classics in the fashion industry.

Trends
What is a fashion trend? A fashion trend is a direction in which a particular change or fashion is moving. I think a fashion trend is born by an idol. For example: Jaden Smith, Rihanna, Lorde, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, the Kardashians etc. All of these people are well known and are idols to this generation of these young men and women. These idols and public figures are the ones who start a trend, because of their popularity on social media and in the real-world. For example when Kim Kardashion wore jean Thigh-High boots, I think later in the fall this trend will be in and will be wore by many other people. Also all of the trends I believe can happen where ever you have the Internet, so it doesn't matter if you live in a small town, big city, rural areas, suburban areas, etc. I absolutely believe that if you have the Internet and have any type of social media, like Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc trends will begin. The fact that social media is such a rapid industry anyone can see it can in their own begin that trend in their area.
